"But I'm not even asking for constant!" Little Miss A-Million-Text-Messages. "All I'm asking for is something! You didn't even tell us where you were! And I'm sorry if you feel it's not fair for me to be this upset with you, but that's how I feel and I can't help that! I get where you're coming from, I really do, but come on! You can't just do that and expect us...expect me...to just be okay with it!"

"Even once a week would be nice," Prompto said, after a moment, after taking a deep breath himself and looking like he was about to object to something, but then he thought better of it and stopped himself. "And let us at least know where you're going...."

He looked like he might have wanted to say more there, but...he didn't. He stopped. He wanted to go on, but he knew it would just lead them around in circles, and that wouldn't do them any good. He already knew she'd object to him saying that then, at least, they could know where to start looking.

Prompto narrowed his eyes a little, thinking something as simple as 'just tell us where you are' should require such an objection, no matter how curbed, but he eventually nodded. "Deal," he said, "but it's definitely a compromise. I'd feel much better if you just, you know, trusted us more, but this is fine. At least we'll know something next time. Although, really, Nina, maybe we might have even been able to help. That's what we're here for..."

"But that is about trust, Nina!" Prompto's shoulders sunk with an exhausted sort of sigh. "It's about trusting us to be able to take care of ourselves, too, you know...but...ugh. It's over now, it's not like we can go back and change it, but just....going forward...."

He didn't know what else to add there, so he just shifted gears slightly. "...and stop acting so freaking surprised all the time that I actually care about you! It's like you don't even remember how mad I was at you for dying that one time, and that hadn't even happened yet!"

He meant it as sort of a joke, an attempt to lighten the mood, but it was just too sincere for it to have really worked that way.

To that, Prompto had to snort. "After all the shit we've been through?" he asked, trying a faint smile, almost apologetic, because he was determined now, to get this mood to lighten at least a little. "I don't think I could stop even if I tried."

"...which I'm not going to!" he added in quickly. "Ever! Whether you like it or not, you're stuck with me."

Emotionally and legally now, too!

Prompto was very, very proud of himself for not pointing out that Nina would probably get herself killed long before forever even had a chance.

Or that, apparently, he was only super, super, super stuck with her when it was convenient for her.

He wanted to, but then again, he also didn't, because he just wanted to stop arguing over it and the important thing was that she was safe and...some understanding had been reached. So all he said was, "Good," and went to pull her into another big, squeezing, protective sort of hug again.

"For families, huh?" asked Prompto, who may have sort of set his chin on the top of Nina's head a little there, as he grinned a bit. Yeah, that sounded just about right, but he was pretty sure Gladio never had nearly half as much trouble with Iris as Prompto did with Nina!

"Yeah, I could go for some food," he decided. "Were you in the mood for anything in partiular? I think I heard something about guinea pigs on a stick around here..."

He was joking.

There was no way he was eating that, he had to work with guinea pigs! How would he ever look those cute little jerks in the eyes ever again??

"Right," said Prompto, chuckling, and honestly extremely relieved to hear that squawk that matched how he felt about it deep in his soul, "so no guinea pigs. But, yeah, apparently, it's a national delicacy or something."

"How about we just sort of wander a few streets and see if there's anything that catches our eye?" Prompto asked, especially into this idea because, hey, he was a city boy, doing a little urban crawling for food sounded like jsut the thing. "Or, I guess, in this case, our stomachs? And then I can show you some of my selfies from when I was a girl last week."

Which, sure, he vowed he'd never show her because she decided to go running off without a trace, but that just made it seem like even more of an effective peace offering.

Prompto took a moment to look around, get a good feel for where some of the best food might be hidden, and then quirked his head in a direction before heading that way. "I so totally was really a girl last week!" he informed her, almost loftily. "I have the pictures to prove it and Vette and literally everyone else can vouch for me. It was a whole thing, a bunch of people woke up one day as girls, and a few days later, the reverse happened. See what you miss when running off all the time?"

Nina would have no problems catching up, because that inspired such a pause out of Prompto that he actually had to stop and look at her so she could see his confusion.

"What does that have anything to do with any of it? Obviously, you would have changed back, and even then..."

Why was he getting the distinct feeling this was just the beginning of his boggling, if Nina could bring herself to even discuss such a sordid topic as apparently this was.

Prompto opened his mouth to say something in response, closed it, furrowed his brow, tried again, stopped, frowned a little deeper, and then ultimately shook his head. There was so much to unpack there that he didn't even know where to begin.

"I think," he finally decided, "there can be exceptions if the naked guy is yourself."

If Prompto was a dumber man, he might have actually felt compelled to point out that, technically speaking, Nina had already seen another guy naked, because she knew Sidon and that dude didn't even wear clothes, but then she was going into this whole unfamiliar body thing, which he could definitely get, anyway, and it just would not be worth getting into.

"Maybe it is for the best, then," he concluded. "Still. It would have kind of been fun to go cute girl-clothes shopping and have you, like, do my hair or something. It was long, Nina, and I did not have a clue what to do with it."
