Quito, Ecuador, Monday, October 14, 2019 [daytime]

With the altitude--Quito is 9,350 (2,850) feet in the air--the morning dawned clear, crisp and cool. We'd recommend packing a sweatshirt for the city bus tour, which will leave at 9 in the morning. You have plenty of time to grab breakfast and a trip to the gym before then.

Up and at 'em, Fandom! Ecuador awaits!

Sabine has gone and toured the San Francisco just because she'd been interested in the architecture, and then found a spot to sit outside, sketching some things and people that had stood out to her in her book.

This wasn't terrible.

Cities would always be endlessly fascinating to Sidon, but what young Zora wouldn't instantly be taken in by the marvelous architecture on display with these incredible churches? He was particularly taken in by the glory and the opulence of La Compania.

"Magnificent!" he declared, and loudly, reveling in how his voice carried in the chamber until he was given a very stern look from someone who had already been regarding him with more than a little caution and skepticism.

And then he just laughed a bit sheepishly, bowed his head a bit in apology, and tried again, this time much quieter, but with no less enthusiasm.

"Magificent!"

Mae hadn't been to a lot of churches besides the one back home in Possum Springs.

Or any churches besides the one back home in Possum Springs.

She ended up just kind of standing just inside the sanctuary, staring up at all of it, a vague, homesick awe in her eye.

". . . Needs more firebreathing cannibal pope," she muttered. Because feelings were stupid, okay?
