Quito, Ecuador, Monday, October 14, 2019 [daytime]

With the altitude--Quito is 9,350 (2,850) feet in the air--the morning dawned clear, crisp and cool. We'd recommend packing a sweatshirt for the city bus tour, which will leave at 9 in the morning. You have plenty of time to grab breakfast and a trip to the gym before then.

While the hotel doesn't have a spa, it does have an indoor pool that the hotel gym overlooks, plus a jacuzzi and a sauna.

Big surprise, Kennedy was at the gym nice and early, not even breaking a sweat despite the maxed-out load on her weights machine. Not that she needed the strength training, or even needed to put the effort into staying toned; it was just something physical and active to do, and she kind of thrived on that.

. . . which, yeah, got a skeptical and not-at-all envious, really, side-eye glance from Beau when she showed up a little bit later.

She was totally not put out that someone from their group had beaten her here. Really.

Nah, she was just going to be over there, doing about a million pullups and being quietly, grudgingly impressed. Whatever, Kennedy, Beau was way more ripped than you. Bet your super-strength couldn't get you that.
